A new worm released from Yahoo Messenger has been discovered all across the internet. The worm is a slight variant from a worm that hit Yahoo several years ago. The worm will download itself onto unprotected computer and install. The hacker will then have full control of the computer that has been infected.
If Yahoo messenger is installed on your computer verify that your anti-virus software is current and updated. It is a good idea not to use Yahoo for a day or so until the correct virus updates are pushed to computers. It is also a good idea to conduct a full system scan on your computer. A complete virus ad malware scan should be completed.

Parents should talk to their children about this worm that is spreading across the internet. The worm could allow a remote user to take over the machine and do something illegal in their name.
This is also a good time for all parents to review their child’s Facebook account. Verify that nothing malicious is posted and no one is harassing them. A review of the pictures on their profile would be appropriate also. Parents need to verify that their child’s profile can lead back to them or get them in trouble with the law.
