Getting Serious about Safety
Google has announced a new plan on getting serious about internet safety and security. Most of use remember when Google was hacked in China. During the attack Google has a lot of intellectual property stolen in the attack. The CEO of Google has announced a new plan on integrating more security into Droid and other applications. They now understand that with intellectual software being stolen it is only a matter of time before a security is found. Droid will need to update its internet safety with the big nation wide push on moving to mobile devices. We are glad to see that safety is now starting to climb the radar of most companies.
 
Patch Tuesday is Today
It is now the second Tuesday of month and Microsoft is releasing new security updates for Windows. Microsoft will be releasing 11 security updates that are designed to fix 25 security flaws in Windows, Office, and server products. All Windows users need to download and install all critical updates. Internet safety and security starts with updating computers to verify all the latest security updates are installed. This is also a good time to verify that all anti-virus and malware software is current and up to date. It is also a good time to run a full system scan.
 
Facebook and Safety for Kids
Not big surprise here in that Facebook has been hit again with malware. The first piece of malware spreading all across Facebook is and email aimed at user to visit a malicious site. When users visit the site a piece of spyware is launched and installed on suspecting computers. The malware can be stopped by verifying you have the latest security software updates and not clicking on links inside emails. Internet safety for kids starts with parent talking to kids about internet and Facebook safety.
 
Kids and Farm Town
Facebook has also announced another security issue with the game Farm Town. Farm Town is a program that is currently being play by over 9 million people. Kids playing this game are getting a pop-up about a security warning. The security warning is fake and is designed to get money from users. The malware tells the users they need to download and install the software. The software is designed to take over kids computers and use them for whatever the hackers. Kids could have information like phone numbers, address, or school they attend. Internet safety for kids starts with parents verifying they know what is going on.
