The other security patches are designed to fix computer security issues in Windows and Office. All Windows users should visit Windows update and download the latest security patches.
Yahoo Messenger Worm Spreading
A new version of and old worm is spreading all through the internet by the Yahoo messenger. Users are getting a message to download a new version of something funny that takes the user to a website. The website then downloads malicious software on the computer. The computer is infected, key strokes are tracked, and the system can then be used by the hacker.
Security Software Getting Better
A new study indicated that computer security software designed for internet safety is actually getting better. The anti-virus software is providing better internet safety but bargains are hard to find. Computer security software is starting to become expensive over the last several years. The software has had to include several new features and need to be updated constantly. This is why computer security software is getting so expensive. With all the security threats that face the everyday internet users it is critical that all computer users have anti-virus software.
Facebook Board Member Phishing Victim
A member of the board of directors for Facebook was the victim of a Facebook phishing scam. The board member received an email what he though was from Facebook and clicked on the link inside the email. The link took him to malicious site where malware was installed on his computer. This just goes to show all internet users that anybody can become a victim.
Last year the Director of the FBI was also the victim of a phishing scam. His bank account information was exposed and hacked.
Facebook New Security
Facebook is going to rolling out some new security updates over the next couple of weeks. These updates are designed to provide greater overall security but if they are like the last update they will only make things worse.
Facebook also wants to add a where are you now feature. This feature is designed to allow users to know where you are at all times. This is just about the worse security issue we can think of. This security issues will now expose users to even more danger while allowing criminals to know more and more about users.
