This is just a reminder that Tuesday several patches were released by Microsoft.  These patches are critical for internet safety and security.  Microsoft released patches for Windows XP, Vista, and 7.  These patches also included the office suites.

Internet Safety News of the Week

This is just a reminded that next will be patch Tuesday from Microsoft.  Microsoft is set to release several new updates for the operating system.  The patches will include Windows XP, Vista, and 7 along with Office products.  All of these patches need to be installed to assure internet safety.  Internet safety starts with keeping computer up to date to assure the security vulnerabilities are patched.

Internet Safety News for the week

The biggest news for the week is that Steve Jobs has resigned as the CEO of Apple.  Jobs lead this once almost of nonexistent company back from the brink and is now one of the most powerful companies in America.  The transformation that Steve Jobs as taken apple through is nothing but phenomenal.  It is amazing to just look back at the last ten years and see how able transformed music, phones, tablets, and general computing.  Jobs will stay on as chairman of the board and will have some hand in product development.

Microsoft last week released several new patches for Windows and Office.  Depending on what version of Windows and Office you have the amount of patches will vary.  Remember that all of these patches are designed to protect computer from attack.  When it comes to internet and safety the best thing you can do is to install all of the latest patches and updates.

Microsoft offers reward | Myanmar #1 | Smart Phone Attacks Rising

Ever wonder were all those nasty internet viruses, spyware, and attacks come from. In the latest round of internet safety news Myanmar was rated as the number 1. Almost 13% of all cyber attacks came from this small country. The majority of internet attacks do come from that area and someone has to take the top spot.

This week Google announced a new feature to its search results.  Google will now notify you if it suspects a computer is infected with malware or spyware.  When a search is done on Google it will look for the signs like redirectors or loggers on computers to find infections.  If infections is detected a warning box will be displaying “Your computer may be infected.”

Patch Tuesday

Don’t forget everybody that last week as patch Tuesday from Microsoft.  Microsoft released several new patches the fix 21 holes within Windows.  You should have right around seven total updates to download and install.  These may differ depending on what version of Windows you have.  This includes XP, Vista, 7 and if the different version of Home, Premium and Ultimate.

Microsoft Buys Skype

Microsoft announced this week that they are going to buy the internet phone service provider Skype this week.  We think this could potentially be a great deal for Microsoft as they integrate the service into their product line. Microsoft will probably use Skype as part of the xbox service and teleconferences.
